What makes us different?
-
The Learning Garden was founded by 2 families who believed Jimboomba deserved better: an early education service that didn't compromise on the quality of the environment, the depth of the learning or the warmth of the community around it.
That's still the standard we hold ourselves to today.
-
All our educators have ACECQA approved qualifications in early childhood education.
-
Our educators don't work from a weekly activity schedule. They observe, plan and respond to who children actually are, guided by an inquiry-led approach that treats every child as a capable, curious learner.
-
Our Karang Studio runs an approved kindy program for children in the year before school which eligible for Queensland Kindy funding, making it significantly more affordable for families.
-
One day each week, our kindy children head out onto Mununjali Country with dedicated Bush Kindy educators. Time on the land. Learning from it.
-
A standalone art studio used by every learning community — real materials, real inquiry with clay, charcoal, oil pastels, and children treated as genuine artists.
-
Our chef cooks from scratch daily using seasonal ingredients, many grown in our own on-site gardens. No pre-packaged food. No exceptions.
Our approach to early education
Learning built around
children’s curiosity
Play is how children think, learn and make sense of the world. Our childcare program is built around it — open-ended, unhurried and responsive to who each child actually is.
Guided by the Rose Way Planning Framework and Australia's Early Years Learning Framework.
Age groups: A studio designed for every stage
Environment: Six studios, one art space, and the kind of outdoor environment most centres only dream about
Nutrition
Our chef cooks from scratch every morning — seasonal ingredients, produce from our own gardens, nothing from a packet.
Mealtimes here are slow and communal, with educators sitting alongside children rather than supervising from a distance. It's one of the quieter parts of the day, calm and unhurried opportunities for connection, conversation and belonging.
Children are given the opportunity to become more attuned to their bodies, leaving each meal feeling nourished, satisfied and regulated.
Food worth sitting down for
“The Learning Garden offers… a safe environment with educators who love their job and work with you as a parent with your child’s development. My son has grown in leaps and bounds, harnessing what he loves and working on the areas… [for] his future heading into school life. The daycare is stimulating, [uses the] latest technology, [has an] approachable team and the deal sealer is my son loves going.”
